چکیده

Bladder neck injuries are well recognized consequences of pelvic fracture related trauma to lower urinary tract.1 The risk of complete bladder neck distraction injury is more common in children than in adults2 so specifically addressed in pediatric literature but there is no specific reference to their management in adults.1 In adults, bladder neck injury is usually longitudinally split.3 We are presenting for first time isolated bladder neck horizontal transection with multiple pelvic fractures due to auto rickshaw accident without extending to prostate below or bladder above as unreported and undescribed injury in literature.

Sprouting of CGRP primary afferents in lumbosacral spinal cord precedes emergence of bladder activity after spinal injury.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) severely disrupts bladder function. What mediates bladder dysfunction after SCI is currently unknown. We investigated the role that primary afferent sprouting in lumbosacral cord may play in emergence of bladder activity after complete spinal cord transection. Rats had a bladder cannula chronically implanted. They were then subjected to complete surgical spinal cord tra...
